Execution

Step-by-step cues

  1. Begin by lying on your side with your legs extended and stacked on top of each other.
  2. Place your elbow directly under your shoulder to support your upper body.
  3. Engage your core and lift your hips off the ground, forming a straight line from head to heels.
  4. Once in the side plank position, lift your top leg as high as possible without compromising form.
  5. Hold the position briefly, then slowly lower your leg back to the starting position.
  6. Maintain a stable core throughout the movement and avoid letting your hips drop.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions before switching sides.
